LITTLE TOUCHES ADD UP TO BIG MEMORIES
Assessor/Recorder/Clerk Now Offers Videos Of Wedding Ceremonies
Its the small but personal touches that add up to create a memorable
event. The San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/Clerks office keeps
that thought in mind when it comes to conducting marriage ceremonies.
The latest addition to the marriage services offered by the assessors
office is a video of the ceremony, which couples can purchase immediately
after the ceremony for $15. A keepsake certificate of the event, suitable
for framing, is available for $10. (The office also offers keepsake birth
certificates with the heading "San Diego Native" for $10).
"The idea behind these services is to make the wedding ceremony
a truly special, enjoyable event for newlyweds and their families,"
said Gregory J. Smith, Assessor/Recorder/Clerk. "We want this to
be much more than a visit to a typical government office."
Convenience to the "customer" is also important, according
to Smith. Marriage licenses can be obtained and ceremonies conducted Monday
through Friday, at all five of the assessors offices: 1600 Pacific
Highway, Room 273, in downtown San Diego; 344 F St., Suite 200, in Chula
Vista; 198 W. Main St., Suite 101, in El Cajon; 5473 Kearny Villa Road,
third floor, in Kearny Mesa; and 334 Via Vera Cruz, Suite 150, in San
Marcos.
In addition, licenses and ceremonies are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
on Saturday at the Kearny Mesa office.
"My staff puts our customers the residents of San Diego County
first," said Smith. "Thats especially important
for weddings, which can be the source of wonderful memories that last
a lifetime."
