PROPERTY SALES SEARCH - TROUBLESHOOTING FAQ
Q. Why do I intermittently recieve an error about
a connection parameter? How can I solve this?
A. This is an internal unresolved database problem which Sybase
promises to fix in future releases. If you see the following error:
Error in /usr/ns-home/website/cnty/cntydepts/general/assessor/srchSales.hts
(line 50):
connection parameter is not a reference at (eval 69) line 196,line 384.
in your browser, select the Back button to return to the Search page.
If you use Netscape, press down the Shift key and select Reload simultaneously.
For Internet Explorer, choose the following options: View|Options|Advanced|Settings|Empty
Folder|OK.
Re-enter the data and submit again.
Q. Why do the results take a long time to appear?
A. This is most likely a result of choosing a request which is
producing a large amount of search results. In other words, if you type
in a common street name like 'lilac' in the Street Name field, there are
numerous street names with the word 'lilac'. To reduce the lag time, be
more specific in your request such as 'Lilac St' or 'Lilac Rd West' or
'Lilac Dr'. Additionally, qualifiers such as Street, Road, and Drive must
be abbreviated such as st, rd, and dr, respectively.
Q. Why does Internet Explorer occasionally produce
errors?
A. All browsers are not created equally. If this occurs, go back
to the initial screen, choose refresh, re-enter the data, and re-submit.
If this does not work, choose the following options: View|Options|Advanced|Settings|Empty
Folder|OK. Re-enter the data and submit again.
Q. Why did I receive a message that there are
no matching records?
A. If the the Street Name, Street Address, Parcel Number or partial
Parcel Number entered as the search field do not match any of the fields
in the database, this message appears. Try a more specific field. You
can also enter in the Street Name if you are not sure of the Parcel Number
or enter in the Parcel Number if you are not sure of the Street Name.
Q. Why did I receive a message about required
fields?
A. The search fields allowed are very specific. Be sure to read
the instructions regarding the four options. Also, you can only enter
in the Street Address information OR the Parcel Number information. You
cannot enter in both.
